2023 jährt sich die Veröffentlichung des Konzert-Klassikers Live And Dangerous zum 45. Mal. Es ist die letzte reguläre Aufnahme des klassischen Twin-Gitarrenduos Scott Gorham und Brian Robertson: Wenige Monate nach dem Erscheinen wurde Robertson endgültig durch Gary Moore ersetzt.
Sechs Shows der Tourneen zu Johnny The Fox (1976) und Bad Reputation (1977) wurden seinerzeit für das sagenumrankte Live And Dangerous mitgeschnitten, das aus aus diversen Bühnen- und Studiosequenzen montiert wurde.
Die kompletten Dokumente der Shows in London, Toronto und Philadelphia sind nun ebenso Teil der kommenden Super-Deluxe-Edition wie jene vom 28. März 1978 im proppenvollen Londoner Rainbow Theatre, den die Iren für eine TV-Ausstrahlung anfertigten — letztlich erschien ein Zusammenschnitt als Kaufvideo und 2007 in voller Länge als DVD.
Ebenfalls am 20. Januar wird auch Life (1983) erneut in den Handel kommen. Neben John Sykes, der seinerzeit die zweite Gitarristen-Position neben Scott Gorham besetzte, sind hier alle ehemaligen Gitarristen der Band zu hören: Eric Bell (1969-73), Brian Robertson (1974-78), Gary Moore (1974, 1977 und 1978-79) sowie Snowy White (1980-1982).
Die remasterte Fassung zum vierzigsten Veröffentlichungsjubiläum wird als Doppel-CD und digital erscheinen.
