Für das Album hatten die Space-Rocker im Dezember 1972 drei Shows ihrer Space Ritual-Tour im Anschluss an die Veröffentlichung des Albums Doremi Fasol Latido (1972) in England mitgeschnitten. Neben der Band standen bei der Rundreise der Poet Robert Calvert auf der Bühne, es gab Tanzeinlagen von Stacia, Miss Renee und Tony Carrera und eine opulente Lichtshow von Liquid Len.
Für die neue Box-Edition wurden nicht nur die auf dem Originalalbum enthaltenen Songs neu gemastert, sondern auch die kompletten Shows aus Liverpool, Sunderland und London neu gemischt. Sie werden dort zum ersten Mal in voller Länge veröffentlicht. Vervollständigt wird Space Ritual 50th Anniversary von einem Stereo-Remix sowie einem 5.1 Surround-Mix.
